LONDON – Sir Elton John had a fallout with Princess Diana when she was still alive. The pop icon further revealed that everything negative between his friendship with the late Princess of Wales was put to a halt just weeks after she died.
Elton John revealed that he and Princess Diana’s fallout ended after their mutual friend and Italian fashion designer, Gianni Versace, died. The said reconciliation happened just six weeks before the late Princess of Wales was caught in a car accident and died in 1997.
During the Princess’ funeral, the pop icon gave one of his moving and ultimate performances with his tribute song ‘Candle In The Wind.’
John and Princess Diana have been very good friends. They partnered in so many charity works. In fact, her advocacy for AIDS brought them closer together. Though with an unexpected falling out, the two were eventually reconciled.
The reconciliation happened after Gianni Versace was murdered, and the late Princess Diana called Elton up. Surprisingly, after six weeks, the late Princess of Wales was reported dead on arrival in a hospital due to a car accident.
John also recalled that it was a nice and wonderful summer. Princess Diana was spending time with her sons – Prince William and Prince Harry. The pop star expressed that the late Princess would have been proud of her boys if she was still alive.
John stressed that he is also proud of the two Princes. Now that Prince William has a family of his own and doing good on his Royal duties and that Prince Harry is set to tie the knot soon, Princess Diana would have been one of the happiest about the situation. She would have been incredibly proud of her Princes.
In fact, John spent some time with the soon-to-be-married Prince in Sicily. He expressed that the Prince was truly in love and that he was happy about everything that is going on in his life. Though Prince Harry did not discuss much of the information about his relationship with the actress and fiancée, Meghan Markle, the Prince just said that he is in love.
Elton John has announced that he is set to retire from his career after the conclusion of his final world tour. There is still no announcement on where the final night of his career is going to take place, but the pop star is ecstatic to spend the remaining days of his tour.
