The return of American sitcom “Roseanne” is all set for next year. Fans who have loved the show since it aired in 1988 to 1997 are now excited to know what’s in store in the 2018 reboot. Many are expecting a lot of changes considering that it has been 21 years since the series finale episode aired. This is proven to be true in the latest promos released.
TV network ABC recently teased fans with a new set of promos for the “Roseanne” revival. As seen on the short promo videos, original characters Roseanne Conner (Roseanne Barr), Darlene Conner (Sara Gilbert), Becky Conner (Lecy Goranson), and Dan Conner (John Goodman) are gathered in the iconic living room watching TV. Apparently, Goodman’s character is very much alive in this reboot. Fans may recall that Dan died in the original series.
Dan’s death happened in the season finale of “Roseanne,” capping off the series with nine seasons in 1997. This fact leaves fans curious as to how the reboot will be dealing with the storyline.
ABC boss Channing Dungey did not divulge any details on how they will rewrite the finale. However, he did mention in an interview that they are not ignoring the events of the finale and what he can only say is that Dan is definitely alive.
The producers of “Roseanne” reboot even used the 1997 series finale as the butt of a new joke in one of their promos. Sources reveal that the premiere episode will have a very funny way of telling viewers how he is still alive. Fans will have to stay tuned and watch out for the comeback of the sitcom next year to find out how Dan will resurrect from the dead.
The new “Roseanne” show will also feature other original cast members who will be reprising their roles. The list includes Laurie Metcalfe, Michael Fisherman, Estelle Parsons, Sandra Bernhard, and Sarah Chalke. The hour-long sitcom will premiere on ABC Tuesday, March 27 at 8 p.m. ET.
