NBA to Punish Chris Paul and the Rockets Over Locker Room Conflict

MANHATTAN, NY – The National Basketball Association (NBA) is setting up a meeting together with Chris Paul, the other Houston Rockets players who are involved, and the Los Angeles Clippers principal members who are embroiled in the recent locker room confrontation scene. The league’s players who are labeled on the said controversy can face a one-game suspension at a minimum.

Chris Paul, the President of the Player Association of the league, is taking part in a huge turmoil between his former teammates and Clippers’ players, Austin Rivers and Blake Griffin. The incident happened after the concluded game that set fire between the two parties for calling out that the protocol was unfair.

Paul, together with his other teammates from the Rockets – Trevor Ariza, Gerald Green, and James Harden, went to the Clippers’ locker room and was reported to have made a scene and kept a yelling bash.

The NBA league is expected to deal with such behavior appropriately, also given the fact that Paul is one of the league’s arms. Regardless of Paul’s stature in the league and his relationship with Adam Silver, the association’s commissioner, it is also anticipated that the issue will be dealt with with no bias.

Many events and occurrences have triggered Paul and his other teammates to go beyond what should be done in the first place. Monday was his first-ever appearance in the Staples Center as a Rockets player since summer.

Paul did not seem to contain the high emotions in the court and had a ran of words with Rivers. The Rockets’ star seemed to have gotten agitated about the opponent’s gesture of non-stop talking right on the bench.

Chris Paul had a lot going on this season. He was also outspoken about how the games are being handled by the referees. In the referees’ defense, they are just after the players’ safety and things were never personal. Hence, the accusations were denied and answered upon.

The referees’ coverage ends by the time the game is concluded, so whatever happens inside the locker room does not fall under their jurisdiction. Referees are only liable for whatever happens inside the court during the duration of the entire game.

Chris Paul and the rest of the players who are involved in the said riot are set to be met by the league’s committee to tackle such incident. The verdict and punishment shall also be given depending on the review of the severity of the event.
